Willesden Jewish Cemetery: 150 years of Heritage 1873 – 2023
Willesden Jewish Cemetery was established in 1873. As a still-active cemetery, it serves as the final resting place for thousands of Jewish families, reflecting the evolution of the Jewish community across London and the impact of Jewish immigration, and is a landmark of Jewish cultural heritage.
This walk will tell the story of the establishment of the cemetery, highlighting the early years of the United Synagogue, the people who made it happen and their role in the community.
We will visit the listed monuments, which are part of the impressive architectural landscape of the cemetery.

Maximum of 25 participants per guided walk.
The walk begins promptly at the Heritage Centre (the first building by the entrance) and lasts approximately 75 minutes. We encourage visitors to allow extra time before or after the walk to explore the Heritage Centre exhibition and the historic funerary buildings at their own pace.
A limited amount of parking is available on site.
Wheelchairs can be provided upon request.
No dogs, with the exception of guide dogs.
Our guided walks are £10 to join, with concessions for Seniors and Students of £8. Charging for Guided Walks allow us to keep doing what we do - sustaining the new House of Life visitor experience, and making the cemetery’s heritage and stories accessible to people from all backgrounds.
