Gentle Jobs

The Heritage Centre and Cemetery grounds are the perfect place to volunteer at Willesden Jewish Cemetery, located in North West London! Join our dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers and be a part of delivering a fantastic programme of activities and contribute to a project that will have a positive impact on both the Jewish and Brent's local communities, Londoners, tourists, school visitors and relatives of people buried there.

Volunteering for Gentle Jobs will give you the opportunity to develop new skills in a supportive environment at an as yet little-known historic site. We will offer you a relaxed environment where you can work at your own pace depending on your needs and requirements. You will also have the chance to meet new people and participate in social events.

 We are currently looking for:

Gardening volunteer - During Spring and Summer months gentle weeding in recently planted areas where new ground treatments are being tested, from wild flowers to bird-friendly aggregates and ground-hugging green plants.

Assisting in seasonal gardening tasks throughout the year, providing extra resource to the work of the existing staff grounds team. This may include planting, sowing, tidying, weeding, dead-heading, pruning, sweeping, mulching, feeding, watering and clearing away trimmings.

General Maintenance -  helping paint benches, gentle litter picking, to help make the cemetery grounds an even more attractive site to visit.
